Transitional period for charges on postal shipments to the USA
At the moment, Seller Online is introducing a transitional period for charges on postal shipments to the USA.
How it works
For consolidated shipments, we collect 5% of the declared value of the goods at the time of shipment creation.
All other charges (the remaining 5% plus handling fees) are covered and paid directly by Seller Online.
For express shipments, starting today you will see the shipping cost (+10% of the declared value of the contents) at checkout. With this shipping method, additional taxes based on HS codes may be charged after crossing the border – these charges will appear as adjustments after delivery.
By default, all shipments are marked as “sender paid,” meaning your customers will not have to pay anything extra upon receipt. If your parcel was shipped earlier and customs still assigns a tax to the recipient, we will cover that cost without passing it on to the buyer.
We are closely monitoring how different carriers will handle border crossings, under which principles, and at what stage additional charges will be applied. Once we have a complete picture, we will adjust the shipment payment procedure accordingly. We will keep our clients informed of all changes and will also prepare instructions on the rules for processing and sending goods – to recipients, via the Global Forward system, and to warehouse stock.
